Armação dos
Búzios was discovered
for the first time at the beginning
of the 16th century by the Portuguese.
The second discovery happened in
1964 – so predicate the inhabitants –
as Brigitte Bardot, the actress, visited
a friend at Búzios and the whole
crowd of paparazzi travelled after
her, to take some pictures of her in
bikini. This is how the small place
got famous over night. |

The tourism got entrance in the fisher-
men's village and so it developped to
the most expensive tourist place on the
coast. The city has today 9000 inhabitants,
to whose come 50000 guest on holidays
and carnival (December to February).
But Búzios still kept its exotic charm.
So it is forbidden, for example, to con-
struct more than two-floor houses. The
peninsula counts 23 beaches and innume-
rable little islands that enrich the picture. |
